Climate Tech, CSRD and the IPCC

Climate Tech, CSRD and the IPCC

The carbon dioxide removal (CDR) market is growing rapidly and so are we. Our newsletter has gotten a facelift and transformed from Positive Climate News to The Removement Read, a newsletter for the latest in carbon removal and climate. Why the switch? We want you to get the latest in CDR from our climate experts at Removement.?

This month, we’ve taken a deep dive into three areas of carbon removal and climate tech:

  • The IPCC’s latest report and its take on Carbon Removal
  • The role of AI in advancing Climate Tech
  • And the new Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) rolled out by the EU

Do you need guidance and help in setting your carbon removal strategy to meet your net zero targets?

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) latest Assessment synthesis report (AR6) emphasises that we need to be more explicit in addressing the issue that there will be so called left-over fossil emissions by the time the Paris Agreement temperature goal should be met. Meaning, Carbon Removal CDR plays a vital role in achieving net zero.

In our polarised, fast-paced world, it's easy to think that headlines about a climate apocalypse are the only truth, when in fact we have another path we can pave by using artificial intelligence (AI) in climate tech. By harnessing the power of machine learning, data analytics, and automation, AI can help us make smarter decisions, optimise processes, and develop more effective solutions in climate tech.

In a not-so-distant future, city infrastructure can be built to mitigate emissions and create a holistic, high tech, climate-friendly ecosystem through:

  • carbon waste management or carbon dioxide removal (CDR)
  • green transportation grids
  • renewable energies

To make this future a reality, the innovations needed in climate tech have to be scaled faster than humanly possible, but with artificial intelligence we can actually do the humanly impossible.
