Climate Tech coffee crawl! Here's what I learned in Bellingham - 5/13/23
If you want to get people together to network and demo cool projects, be like Morgan Murrah and start a coffee crawl.
Here's what I learned while enjoying 4 cups in 4 shops.
1) Offshore wind energy is a great idea, but has a huge problem when you try to build and deliver the materials using our existing ports.
Alex Parker from Fl?t Co knows how to build offshore wind materials on the water itself. It's the same thing we're doing in outer space.
Here's their successful trial run. A 3D printing water float!
2) Webpagetest Carbon Control tells you how much carbon your website is emitting and what to do to fix it. Hint: it comes down to things like image size, speed, performance, and dark mode.
My site's footprint is .08g.
3) If you own a bunch of commercial buildings and want to profitably use solar, Lumen Energy will make that easy for you. Lowell Bander knows everything about it.

1 年Jacob Caggiano would you be interested in broadening what you did today into a future meetup event? Like where folks talk through what they're working on with the diverse group that comes to the meetups? We can try and pair you up with another organizer too if that'd make it feel more approachable ??

1 年Thank you so much for walking me through Climate Tech Handbook! It was so cool to learn what you've done so far and what you might do in the future!
