Climate Future: What We Know and Don't Know

Climate Future: What We Know and Don't Know

Current debates over climate change are focused almost entirely on reducing emissions - which is something we should do - but we also need to answer the question, how should we be adapting?

  • Even if the US and Europe cut their emissions to 0, which won't happen, but even if they did, that's 30% of global CO2 emissions. The other 70% is still growing.
  • So it's sad, but true, that it's likely that emissions will continue to grow, and the CO2 concentration will continue to increase,
  • And that's why a 3 degree increase in temperature, which many believe will be catastrophic, is quite likely.
