From problem to solution: waste management can help address triple planetary crisis
Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme Inger Andersen delivered a speech on the role of waste management at the International Forum on Green World Solidarity in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Waste management is also causing an increase in methane emissions. The waste sector now accounts for 20% of all anthropogenic methane emissions. For the 150 plus countries that have committed to reducing methane emissions by 30 percent by 2030, addressing landfills that are emitting methane emissions – and will do for decades to come without action – is critical.

11 July: OEWG46 Side Event - Setting the Path Forward Towards Environmentally Responsible Vehicle Thermal Management with Future Fluids and System Designs, Including Professional Service Practices and Equipment
?Future mobility is well on its way towards electric vehicles, which don’t have the ability to generate their own heat like an internal combustion engine. Current heating options reduce driving range (negating some of the environmental benefits of EVs) leading us to look at alternative vehicle thermal management system designs. This includes the best fluids to use to provide both heating and air conditioning at optimal efficiency. This side event will present an affordable path forward for Article 5 Parties to implement sustainable refrigerants and reversible heat pump systems for electric vehicles with even more environmentally friendly refrigerants.?
