CLIMATE CHANGE - What are we doing about it?

I'm frustrated that we are so slow at adopting new technologies. My gut feeling is that we need to do it at a much more rapid pace. But at the same time, I can't help to wonder if the investments made are only good in the long-term, but possibly detrimental in the short term.
A global urgency needed for the next decade
Fossil free technologies will be more prevalent from 2030 and onwards, according to national expert Svante Axelsson
But what about now?
The old structures are not giving up. Will the industrial revolution happen fast enough? And is there a correlation between more efficient ways of working and less energy consumption?
Or will the connected society demand more of existing infrastructure and thus boost CO2 emissions in the short term and fuel global warming?
As the article states, it's imperative to get a more accurate picture of the associated carbon footprint the analysis would have to account for the actual energy mix these companies use.
Will the market be able to create the change needed? Or will it take political incentives and policies? And will these policies be created by the existing people in Governments world-wide, or do we need a new breed of people with a global conscience? Can we wait?
Faster time to value creation
How better buildings can contribute to a better world for everyone. Not only how, but what products are needed and how do we create net-zero-buildings in a much faster, auto-deployable way.
Those are the challenges I am trying to solve together with likeminded people and companies and I'd like to invite everyone to join in and create a more sustainable world together!

5 年Great post. 2 heuristic keywords spring to mind - Inertia and reluctance. Our predisposed aversion to change will result in us losing the battle. The only question now is; How long will earths recovery be?

5 年?? we can do more, faster, and easily become more sustainable. Why are we not? So many low hanging fruits out there! I’m asking myself these questions every day. I believe there are many reasons. The first is the ever existing adoption curve. We appear to be more progressive than we are. Still a lot of window shopping around. And many #innovationtheathre visits. Right now only people, and whole companies on the earlier stages of this adoption curve take action. If they are bold! Typically, even if you have the right insight, and if you know what is right, it will not lead to action. Why not? My view, having met quite a few of these people with appetite for action, who are sittning in companies that are not taking action (except polishing what they already have): * not their responsibility or role * not incentivized to * too risky (organizations not teamed up for that) * strong immune systems (processes, procedures, governance, other parts of the organisation and/or individuals feel themselves challenged, mismatch between portrayed externally- and real ambitions internally, simply too many people feeling they have too much to lose if status quo is challenged... and more). Why? We already know #Sustinability + #Tech is...
