“Climate catastrophe for All”
Have you ever heard of “human rights are rights for all?” Or maybe “healthcare for all” or “bla bla bla for all?” Allow me introduce another clause, “Climate catastrophe for all”. As harsh as it might sound, it is the sad truth. It is perplexing how some people sit to imagine that they are immune to the consequences of climate change. The looming catastrophe will destroy all if nothing is done. What has been felt is just a tip of the iceberg.
It is also obvious that most casualties from the devastating effects of climate change are those who contributed the least to the destabilization of the atmosphere. For instance, Africa has contributed to less than 4% of the entire carbon emissions globally yet the effects are devastating. Talk of fossil fuels, the rise and growth of industries, skyrocketing growth of towns among others being counted as key agents of the change.
This is the bottom-line. In as much as Africa and other marginalized regions are first to feel the pinch, eventually the entire globe will feel it. From the mightiest to the least, the greatest to the smallest, the richest to the poorest, all will eventually feel it and this will be the worst turn of events ever recorded in history.
As calls for climate action, climate justice and climate reparations intensify, some of the key contributors have shown interest but have not yet taken significant steps to act, while some have turned a blind eye on it entirely.

It is quite unfortunate that while there is still an open opportunity to correct the mess caused to the environment, the concerned parties are slow in taking action. Of course there are reasons the slow nature but the reasons are not sufficient. Science has proven beyond any reasonable doubt that climate change is indeed at hand and that we have this decade alone to make amends.
By the time the globe is swinging into action, it will be too late to reverse the situation. That will be the time when “Climate Catastrophe for all” will be declared a global pandemic. By this time, the consequences will be severe, and no one will manage to run away from it or wish it away. The forest fires, diminishing wetlands, drying up river sources, melting of glaciers, floods, prolonged droughts, failed rains, extreme rains and winds, among others will be met at one’s doorstep.
The time for climate action is now and never a future venture. Afforestation, reforestation, regenerative agriculture, ecosystem restoration and water harvesting among others can be done now to see the future of the planet.
