The LinkedIn Global Green Skills report?2023 reveals a significant statistic - while the median green talent concentration across various industries stands at 12.3% (equating to one in eight workers possessing green skills), the finance industry significantly lags behind at a mere 6.8% (indicating one in fifteen with green skills).

With this imperative in mind, our August edition is dedicated to bringing you a curated selection of fresh climate-focused roles, EDF's Climate Corps Fellowship,?lucrative funding opportunities, and an exclusive glimpse into our Civil Society Academy Programme. Environmental Defense Fund’s?Climate Corps Fellowship


Climate Corps , Environmental Defense Fund ’s (EDF), prestigious fellowship? places specially trained master's and post-graduate students within prominent companies. Since launching in 2008, the program has successfully matched over 1,400 fellows with more than 500 organizations globally.?

Early bird applications will close on 17?September 2023. Applications for round 2?will open on 21 October 2023 and will?close on 17 December 2023. This opportunity is ideal for those enthusiastic about addressing environmental issues and utilizing their skills to bring about positive societal impact.

CIVIL SOCIETY ACADEMY : FIELD VISITS

We are thrilled to share inspiring success stories from our Climate Asia’s Civil Society Academy (CSA) programme, where 11 grassroots organizations from UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Orissa are actively engaged in a capacity-building journey. Our recent field visits have provided us with a unique opportunity to dive deep into the core of these organizations, unlocking a deeper understanding of their projects. Here's a glimpse of the two of our field visits.?


The Badlao Foundation

The Badlao Foundation, situated in Jamtara, Jharkhand, stands as a beacon of transformation. With visionary zeal, they have converted 300 acres of once-barren land into a thriving agricultural expanse. Through unwavering dedication, they've not only increased crop yields but also boosted the annual income of 300 tribal families by an impressive 20-25%.

Seba Jagat


Highlighting the remarkable achievements of Seba Jagat, who, in collaboration with the Adivasi community and Government support, spearheaded the construction of The Ladugaon Dam. In the wake of relentless rainfall and devastating floods in Kalahandi, Seba Jagat's visionary initiative emerged as a guiding light. The dam has not only mitigated the challenges posed by floods but has become a lifeline for the region.?
