Cliffs

Today's devotional is from Life is a Goldmine: Can You Dig It?

CLIFFS

"On each side of the pass that Jonathan intended to cross to reach the Philistine outpost was a cliff; one was called Bozez and the other Seneh" - 1 Samuel 14: 4.

The cliffs Jonathan faced were so imposing that they had been given names! That made them serious cliffs to overcome if anyone wanted to climb them. Yet the daunting task ahead of him became achievable because Jonathan set a goal to attack his enemies and the cliffs just happened to be in his way. Thus, he had the incentive and courage to scale them.

Do you set the goal and then face the obstacles or do you look at the obstacles and then decide whether or not to set the goal? Are the cliffs in your life keeping you from getting to the next level? What are you prepared to do about them?

Lord, mountains are part of life, but I sometimes allow them to intimidate and keep me from moving onward and upward. The highest mountain to me, however, is nothing to You. Therefore, I need to live in Your perspective and not my own. With Your help, I determine to set goals regardless of the obstacles and trust You for the outcome.
