These Clients & Niches Don’t work on LinkedIn

These Clients & Niches Don’t work on LinkedIn

A lot of people have been asking me about what works and doesn’t work on Linkedin

If you niche will work comes down to 3 X factors

  1. Can you target them on LinkedIn
  2. Are they active on LinkedIn
  3. Can your offer make money or save money for them (Biz Owners and Working professionals)

Dentists would be an example of a niche that doesn’t work.  They can be targeted, but they just aren’t active.

Some local businesses can work - for example a client in my program is having great success with local fitness studios.

If local businesses are active, then you have a great mix because the geographic targeting on LinkedIn is super powerful and you can target by post code / zip code

No.3 is a little less simple

There is a myth that LinkedIn is exclusively a B2B platform, and this is simply not true

Sure B2B and a solid offer that makes money or saves money for business is always going to work well

But oftentimes, the link between the offer and the ‘making' or ‘saving' of money is just a matter of smart positioning

Some examples - I’ve had plenty of people in my program having success selling Career Change Services, Mortgages and Finance offers

Health will also work, but we would need to position for productivity, not for weight loss

Stress treatment works to, but we would need to position for workplace culture, productivity or something similar

LinkedIn makes it trickier than Facebook for these types of offers because we can’t target for intention and we can’t separate people suffering from poor health

But there is always a way around it

What business doesn’t want more productive employees?

Ultimately, no matter the platform, human needs remain human needs.

The desire for status, looking good, being happy, success - they all remain constant.

We just need to get smarter about our positioning in order to ‘hook’ and open doors

Drop a comment below if you want me to look at your positioning

I agree with Amy Rasdal. The stage is opening up for more and more opportunities outside of recruiters/recruitment

I think people are beginning to use LinkedIn a little differently over time. It's no longer only for recruiters.
