The Challenge

A leading global logistics provider with a US $3 billion freight network, faced myriad challenges with its financial reporting. With over 20 Transportation Management Systems (TMS), the company struggled with complex application integrations, intercompany reconciliation issues arising from transactions across multiple TMSs, and intricate cash settlement issues. The implementation of Microsoft Dynamics was abandoned due to its inability to meet the company’s business needs. In response, Accelalpha took the lead in a transformation project aimed at replacing the organization's legacy Great Plains ERP with Oracle Cloud ERP and Procurement Cloud.

Our Approach

Accelalpha focused on addressing the diverse challenges outlined by the organization. The objectives included resolving complex integrations with over 20 disparate TMSs, streamlining cash settlement processes within a shared service model, and unifying the customer and supplier model for efficient communication between TMSs. The implementation involved Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP modules, including Financials, Purchasing, Self-Service Procurement, and Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC). The solution encompassed enhanced integration specifications, Oracle Integration Cloud for orchestrating API calls, standardized financial statement reports, and the development of multiple custom reports tailored to industry-specific challenges.

The Results

The transformation led to remarkable outcomes for the organization:

  • Unified Models: A consolidated view of customers and suppliers was achieved, with 80+ automated integrations spanning over 20 TMS and multiple third-party systems.
  • Efficient Financial Processes: Automated banking integrations with JPMorgan Chase streamlined financial processes, improving overall efficiency.
  • Reduced Reconciliation Efforts: Intercompany reconciliation efforts were significantly reduced, leading to improved transaction efficiency.
  • Comprehensive Oracle Solutions: The implemented Oracle solutions covered various business processes, including Purchase Requisition Forms, automated accounts payable invoice processing, workflow management for approvals, notification and reminder emails, email-based approval capabilities, document attachment and storage, and OCR technology for streamlined vendor invoice processing.
