Client Spotlight: Young@Heart

We had a rocking good time working with Young@Heart to design, launch and manage their Kickstarter campaign! ??

Young@Heart is America’s oldest rock group - made up of two dozen performers ranging in age from 75-93. ??

They’ve created shows and toured the world since 1982, performing sold-out concerts with songs from artists like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Pretenders, Cake, Tom Waits, Gloria Gaynor, NWA, and more! ??

Watch two Young@Heart choir members perform “Right Place Wrong Time”:

In honor of their 40th anniversary, they launched a Kickstarter campaign with the support of Common Great co-op member Frances Lee and founder Ariel Glassman . Here are the hits:

??? Fully funded!

?? 265 generous contributors!

?? Matching gift secured!

The campaign will allow them to make a documentary to tell their four-decade-long story, from humble beginnings as a community choir at a local meal site for the elderly to today – including our collaborations with Chicago Children’s Choir, Pioneer Valley Gay Men’s Chorus, our PrisonVision project and more.?

?? From drag queens to the Queen of Norway, everything will be revealed. ??

The Young@Heart Chorus strives to present a positive image of aging through music. Born of a belief that the often-marginalized elderly can make great contributions to art, we perform songs not commonly sung by older people to build bridges between communities and create shared musical experiences for young and old alike. Young@Heart works to show that age, race, ethnicity, and class need not be a barrier to making great music, and that no life circumstance should act as a hindrance to participating in or enjoying it.
