A Client Presentation, Site Tour and Gilbane's Family Council Meeting
This last week was a good week. I started off meeting a strategic client on Monday in Bethesda with Drew Mucci, then went to Atlanta to participate in a presentation for a significant $100+ million project with Michael Brown and team, here we are teamed with Jacobs. Our combined teams did an outstanding job and like so many of our pursuits, the attitude of client advocacy and our spirit of actually “starting the project” in the presentation sets us up for a standard to the selection committee that is hard to beat. I will tell you more about it soon. Later that day, I had the chance to walk our mixed-use development job at 675 North Highland. The project is a 198,000 sf residential development featuring 125 residential apartments, 9 corporate offices and 6 retail spaces. Like so many of our jobs like this we build the 410 space concrete parking garage first. The complex will have swimming pool, fitness center, club room and is situating in a fast developing area of Atlanta. The whole job is about $26 million and should wrap up in the late summer. Our team led by Dave Smith, Sr. PM, has done a great job keeping on top of it and from the looks of the model apartment, it will finish out nicely.
Back in Providence, we had our regular June Gilbane Inc., Board of Directors meeting with report out to the Gilbane Family Council and ending with the annual Shareholder meeting with the extended Gilbane family members. It was exciting to update the family alongside Bob Gilbane’s Gilbane Development Company team on our performance for 2015 and our plans/status so far this year and in the months ahead. The family’s support and interest in all we accomplish for Gilbane is unique and vital for our family business.
