Client Magnet Blueprint: How to Win Clients on LinkedIn

How can I get clients for my consulting practice Wanda? This is one of the questions I received on LinkedIn.


In the last 2 articles, I shared how different LinkedIn features and how Livestreaming on LinkedIn can help you stand out among 1 Billion professionals on LinkedIn so you can get clients without wasting time and without sending hundreds of messages.


Today, I want to answer this question about how you can get consulting clients on LinkedIn following a 3 step client magnet blueprint which will cost you nothing.

As of today, there are 25.5 million consultants on the LinkedIn search page.

3 Steps Win Consulting Clients on LinkedIn

Step 1: Update your LinkedIn Banner

Your LinkedIn Banner is like a digital calling card that captures the most attention because this is what your connections see when they visit your profile.

You can get clients on LinkedIn when your banner clearly says about:

  • What do you do?
  • Who do you help?
  • How do you solve people's problems?

An updated banner, helps me and my clients get clients even without sending hundreds of messages.

For example, I got this inquiry about my LinkedIn training after sending a connection invite to a CEO.

ACTION STEP:

Update your LinkedIn banner so your connections are clear who you are, what you do, and how you can help solve their problems.

Step 2: Update your Headline

Other than your LinkedIn banner, your profile headline is important to stand out on LinkedIn among 25.5 million consultants and 1 billion members.

Your headline is 220 characters but the first 45 characters are most crucial for 3 big main reasons:

  • Your headline is the first thing that people see on your profile.
  • Your headline is how your clients can find you on search results.
  • Your headline appears when you comment on another post on LinkedIn.

ACTION STEP:

Update your headline to improve search visibility, establish your professional identity, and reflect your experience and expertise.

Step 3: Update your Custom Button

Other than your LinkedIn banner and the headline, the custom button that appears at the top of your LinkedIn Profile is a very powerful tool.

The custom button is 30 characters and you can use this to drive people to book your calendar, visit your website, download your book, or add any call to action you want to drive your connections.

Take note that your creator mode needs to be "on" to use this function.
