Specific - Well defined and clear to all from the end user to the top level of management.
Measurable - Don't set a goal that is unattainable or unclear as to when it is reached. The client needs to agree on it.
Agreed Upon - ALWAYS include the stakeholders on the goals.
Realistic - As stated in the previous parts of SMART, it should be in agreement with the client and doable within the resources and knowledge of those working the project and within the time constraints, not beyond.
Time-Based - Set enough time to achieve the goal, but don't be unrealistic in either direction.
Remember, project goals are to be set and achieved for Customer Satisfaction.
