I’m enjoying it here, but the role is basically ops and not really the leadership all encompassing department role that I was sold.

RECRUITER
Have you spoken to your manager about your concerns? It’s been 5 months and they did say you would be slowly progressing from one department to another once you get the hang of things
?

I have and nothing has changed.

Rather than sitting on it, DAVID contacts THE CLIENT. But not before making a TEA and grabbing some PRISON BIKKIES (staples in this game).
RECRUITER
(on the phone)
Hey client, candidate is loving everything about the company and people, just feels a little bored in the role they have and hoping to do more in their role while they train to be in the hands on leadership position.

Thanks for the feedback David. I’m aware I can’t let them get bored and definitely don’t want to lose them. I’ll have another chat with them and explain my plan. Appreciate you reaching out. Oh and while I have you, just wanted to mention how awesome a person you are. A true gentlemen in every sense of the word. Probably the best recruiter and human being I’ve dealt with in my life. Never change.

DAVID now feels like he’s ACCOMPLISHED something, yet hasn’t really (So, RECRUITMENT).
INT. DAVID'S HOUSE (WFH DAY), HOT... DID I MENTION I’M ORIGINALLY FROM VICTORIA?!

Hi David, I’ve had a further chat with my manager who laid out the plan of attack for me and can see that they have been super busy with multiple other things and I realise that while things might be taking a little longer than I would have hoped, everything about this place ticks boxes and now that I know the plan from my manager. I am super happy.

While the above SCENARIO may come across as CLICHE'?and the RECRUITERS answer to if this situation comes up… More times than not, this turns into a RESIGNATION.
I will be treating this as one of my BIGGER wins in this industry.
The times I get to CONSULT and not be a TRANSACTIONAL RECRUITER trumps every single time.
A POST PLACEMENT check after the GAURANTEE PERIOD is not a common thing in my REPERTOIRE.
Nor is saying words like REPERTOIRE or NOR.
They are now!
