Click your heels together three times...

This week has been one of the most exciting and also one of the strangest (in a good way) in my working life.

I have returned to FACT, where I worked for eight years, taking on a Chief Operating Officer role to help manage the growing business and develop the myriad business opportunities that are in the pipeline.

When I left in 2014, FACT was an anti-piracy organisation, servicing members across the audio-visual landscape and earning a reputation as the leader in intelligence gathering and enforcement. FACT had also developed groundbreaking initiatives ranging from protecting cinemas from illegal recordings to informing brands that their ads were appearing on pirate websites. And that innovation has continued in the past five years as FACT has moved into new areas of works such as due diligence, working for businesses and governments across the globe.

Being back with Kieron Sharp, Chief Executive, and many of the old team is a real joy. I had to pinch myself the other day though as I almost felt like I was in some weird time warp and, of course, the job I am doing now is very different to my old Director of Communications role.

I have spent the week sitting in on meetings, chatting to colleagues and planning our current and projected business strategies, as well as setting up meetings for September onwards, preparing for our major presence at a global citizenship conference in November and hiring a PR and Comms person.

It's going to be a very busy autumn in Kansas, sorry FACT. There's no place like home but this isn't a dream!
