CLFI Boosts Education with Learning Tools for Navotas ALS Center

Cebuana Lhuillier Foundation, Inc. (CLFI) recently turned over ICT equipment to the Alternative Learning System (ALS) Center of Dagat-Dagatan Elementary School in Navotas City.

The donation will initially aid the learning of close to 100 ALS learners and is expected to support more learners in the upcoming school year.

Following the ALS equipment donation in Itogon, Benguet, the turnover event marked the 157th ALS partner of the Foundation nationwide.

“With our goal of providing opportunities for out-of-school youth and adult learners to complete basic literacy, we aim to support an additional 50 ALS centers this year and in 2025,” said Jonathan Batangan, CLFI executive director.

Delighted by CLFI’s support for ALS, Navotas City Mayor John Reynald Tiangco graced the event and shared his advocacy for continuing education regardless of age and economic status.

The Foundation has been championing impactful and sustainable programs through strategic partnerships and collaborations for its major thrusts in education, financial inclusion, and disaster resilience.

Acknowledging partners’ significant contributions during the event, CLFI gave a special citation to one of its major donors, 8Gig Konstruct, Inc., represented by the company President Sherill Pelagio.

Also present at the event were CLFI PCR Head Didi Gella, Brgy. Captain Hon. Domingo Elape, Area 112 Head Ricardo Cruz, CLFI ALS Program Lead Mark Anthony Reyes, School Principal Dr. Sonia M. Padernal, and DepEd Schools Divisions Assistant Superintendent Dr. Eladio Escolano.
