Tracking the dominant forces that are shaping our built environment specifically in the field of architecture, during the past few decades, shows fundamentals the design thinking and the game-changing factors in the designer's mind have changed drastically. The industry sensitive data become a largely available factor and early-stage decision making found an even more important role; consequently, the theories behind the thinking for many proactive architects in the design process has also changed.

When I decided to pursue my passion in the field of sustainability, I couldn't imagine a day that this takes me to the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape (SAPL) at the University of Calgary in a Ph.D. program to study Industrial Ecology, Life Cycle Assessment and calculation of Embodied Energy during the design stage as a decision-making tool. Today, is a very important day in my life, and I would like to announce the existence of the Carbon Leadership Forum Alberte Hub, and invite you to come to our first virtual event on December 10th, 2020 at 4:00 PM Alberta time. Our first guest speaker for this event is Mr. Anthony Pak. Please see www.clfalberta.com for more information and registration for the Zoom meeting.

This journey wouldn’t be possible without the support of the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) Architectural Technology program, my supervisor Dr. G. Assefa, and my wonderful examination committee to shape my knowledge. I have a special thanks to the team of volunteers in CLF Alberta Hub, Kristine Tollovsen, Ignacio Cariaga, Ali Hosseinpour, and the full support of Anthony Pak, and Professor K. Simonen at the University of Washington. This initiative will provide many job opportunities to the province of Alberta in the near future in sustainable building material and more. See us at www.clfalberta.com.

I have a very special thanks to my family and my wife for the continued support!
