Clever Innovation
I have been selling photocopiers for more than 15 years and i have seen how copiers have evolved from the old analogue days when a client would have a fax machine, a copier, a stand alone printer and generally these devices all sat in the same room if not on the same table.
Things have certainly changed allot over time and copiers have evolved into multi functional devices with software driven applications to take these devices to whole new level but i came across a Toshiba e-Studio 2802 and i am very impressed with the innovation when Toshiba designed this device.
There is nothing fancy about it, there is no Android enabled 7" touchscreen or even any software apps. It is straight forward A4 desktop Mono MFP (Copy, Print, Scan, Fax) BUT Toshiba was extremely clever in finding a gap in the small to medium market for this device.
As any copier salesman will know, most companies in the small to medium space do not have a large A3 print requirement, it is the odd prints here and there. The problem a salesman faces is explaining to client that an A3/A4 device is ALLOT more expensive than an A4 only device.
This is where Toshiba has filled a gap in the market with the ES 2802 and here is WHY...
The ES 2802 is an A4 only device BUT because of the clever design a client is now able to put A3 paper through the bypass tray to make the odd A3 copies and the document feeder is able to pull A3 paper through it for scanning. I think this is GENIUS because the device cost is only R14 999-00ex Vat or on a rental @ R599-00ex Vat.
What really also impresses me is the speed of the device, 28 images per minute and it can handle a volume of up to 15 000 images per month. There is no machine on the market that i know of that can do what this Toshiba ES 2802 can do at this pricing.
