Cleevio's HQ was relocated to Prague's Karlin district and hit over 180M CZK revenue in 2022!

The last 12 months were quite crazy in Cleevio. Here is the recap of the ups & downs and what happened or is happening.

Let's start with the good stuff:

We made the biggest investment in our history and opened a new office in Mississippi House (Karlin). We signed this commitment at the end of 2021 (before the war in Ukraine and the financial crisis happened), so it was a little challenging. But I believe that in the long term, it was a necessary step for Cleevio to grow, be more professional and make bigger deals.

We threw a fantastic party, starting with a boat ride from our old Qubic Villa office (Cleevio was based there for 5+ years). Then we literally anchored in the new office in Karlín where we celebrated the opening of our new headquarters.

  • Our blockchain department is growing quickly. This year's revenue just from blockchain will be over 30M+ CZK. We've also just launched a new website for our blockchain department Cleev.io?

  • We've hired a number of high-skilled engineers.

Fuck-ups & fails & bad stuff: With a challenging year as the previous one was, I cannot highlight only the good. We encountered a few fuck-ups and bad things happening as well.?

  • Macroeconomic situation is really challenging for us. Why:

A) Bigger clients: Their benchmark are IPO listed companies that have crashed a lot recently. That’s why they need to think wisely about how they want to move the product + operation costs go up (interest rates, salaries etc.)

B) Startups: most startups that raised money in the last two years now have lower valuations than a few months ago (even though they didn't do anything wrong). Their biggest chance is to take a convertible loan/bridge from current investors. That is why they need to show them that they're being careful. Unfortunately, one of the easiest ways to do this is to cut dev costs.

BTW: That's the reason why we’re looking for new partners and clients to work with.

  • Delivery vs. Value: we need to be always sure that we provide the best value to our clients and sometimes we fail in this. This is something that we always try to improve but still I can see a lot of space for improvements.
  • Fire faster: in regards to delivery vs. value: sometimes we get negative feedback on some of our developers but we give them second, third chances. We should validate this faster.

So how will 2023 turn out for us?

Long story short: survive!?

On the one hand, finding new deals is more challenging, and budgets are lower, but also, it's easier to hire people + salaries in tech should go a little bit down + along with all benefits, and it will probably return everything back to normal.

Even with the current macro, we still have many opportunities to grow. Slower than the last 2 years, but still, I believe that thanks to our experience in auto-moto (thanks to Driverama.com) and our blockchain experience we're a valuable partner for a lot of potential companies.?
