It's been a busy week for us following the CEDIA EMEA Smart Home Awards, a star-studded ceremony uniting AV professionals from across the world at The Brewery, London, UK. The event has kickstarted a lively season for the industry as we look ahead to ISE 2025, the four-day exhibition in Barcelona that HiddenWires readers can attend for free (!) using this link here, or the code UT1PLS5Y when you sign up.
Fibre optic technology has been merged with HDMI installation in Cleerline's new 60-metre Active Optical Cable (AOC), enabling integrators to remove the need for additional extenders on long distance applications. Distributors CAVD and Indigo Distribution have also sought to change the game with brands Nakymatone and Black Nova, now available to dealers in the UK and Ireland.
It seems to have been the week for speakers, too. UK distributor Karma-AV has added Ascendo’s new planar subwoofer to its home cinema design portfolio, while Lyngdorf Audio has developed the on-wall speaker concept and Marantz has rolled out its first wireless speakers.
