In the latest in our series of profiles on our team members from the Poland delivery center, we invite you to meet one of our recent hires, Dawid Matusiewicz, Lead DevOps Engineer.

Let’s learn more about Dawid!

1. First question: Where are you located and why did you choose this place?

I moved to Gdańsk 15 years ago when I was starting my studies.

2. How would your perfect breakfast look like?

I'm a simple person. Scrambled eggs and coffee with my wife and a view of the mountains.

3. Where did you study? What was your major?

Gdańsk University of Technology - Control engineering.

4. Tell us about the most interesting or the most difficult project you took part in.

I really like projects that have a positive impact on people's lives. Two recent ones that I can name are for the British government. The first project was for the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency. The goal was to improve road safety by providing a modernized MOT system for the garages. The second project was for NHSD - that was a digital system that was helping to distribute COVID-19 testing kits and collect the results.

5. What's your usual working day routine?

Coffee, emails, meetings, coding.

6. How do you spend your free time? What are your hobbies?

Gym, video games.

7. What was your very first job? What was the first thing you bought with your own money?

I was a junior system administrator in a small hosting company in Poland. After a month I bought a DVD player.

8. What superpower would you like to have?

The ability to resist sweets.

9. How do you imagine a perfect day?

Family + mountains.

10. Which song, book or movie should everyone be familiar with?

Song: Paint It Black, Book: 1984, Movie: Pulp Fiction

11. What is your best childhood memory?

First PC - Pentium II 120 Mhz, 32 MB of ram, 1.6 GB disk + Starcraft.

12. You have obtained leadership on the planet in some unknown way. Congratulations! Everyone listens to you and is ready to carry out your orders. What can we expect from your governance?

I will have only one order: "Be kind and honest to each other".
