Clearing the Clutter, Embracing the Treasure

I celebrated my 46th birthday last month and I was blessed with a reminder that every new chapter we enter comes with its own lessons, revelations, and wisdom. Sometimes this means setting big, bold goals, and sometimes it means simply clearing out the clutter to rediscover what’s already ours. Right now, I’m in a season of reflecting on abundance and recognizing that everything I need has been here all along. I just had to make space to see it.?

Back in December, I found myself feeling… stuck. For someone who’s always had big visions and dreams, it was unsettling to sit in a place of uncertainty. I prayed for clarity. And what came back wasn’t a grand, flashy revelation. It was a simple instruction. Clean out your closet.

Now, if you know me, you know I’m a woman of action. So, I got to work. I opened up my closet and started pulling things out. And y’all…the treasures I found! Shoes I’d never worn, clothes still in their original packaging, even a MacBook Pro I’d written off as broken when all it needed was a small fix to work like new.?

This is when it hit me. I’ve been so focused on what’s next that I haven’t taken the time to appreciate what I already have.

This was a powerful reminder that my life is already full of abundance. My mind had been cluttered with doubts and distractions, and my outer world reflected that. But as I cleared out the physical clutter, I started to feel lighter. I saw the blessings I’d overlooked, the relationships I’d nurtured, the wins I’d achieved. This was my sign that I didn't need to be chasing more, but to realize that I already had more than enough.

This lesson is spilling over into every part of my life.?

I am in the prime of my life. I'm feeling more physically, mentally, and emotionally fit than I ever have. And even though I lost 80 lbs this past year, I'm not focusing on my loss, I'm looking at what I have gained—clarity, peace, and a deeper understanding of who I am. I’ve started writing poetry again. I’m leaning into creative expressions that bring me joy. And I’m reminding myself that I don’t need to look outside for validation. Everything I need is already within me.

So, as we step into 2025, remember to ask yourself: What abundance is already around you that you might be overlooking??

This is the year when we stop chasing and start embracing. The treasures are already yours, my Queens and Kings. So, keep showing up, staying consistent, and giving it the best you’ve got—because that’s how you WIN.
