Morning Pages: A Fresh Start Every Day!

The week started with a refreshing dose of Morning Pages. In case you missed it, Morning Pages are all about putting pen to paper first thing in the morning. It's a simple but incredibly powerful practice. ALX reminded us that what we write matters a lot less than the fact that we write something. The key is to do it every single day!

I took on the challenge to write my morning pages daily for the next 7 days, and it was a game-changer. Morning Pages serve as a mental warm-up, allowing us to clear our thoughts and make space for focused and creative work. It's like "clearing out the pipes" of your mind to allow fresh ideas to flow.

Benefits Galore: Why Morning Pages Matter

Let's talk about the benefits, shall we?

• Provocation and Clarity: They kickstart your day with thought-provoking reflections, offering clarity on your priorities and ideas.
• Mind Clarity: Like a mental detox, they clear your mind of clutter, allowing for sharper thinking.
• Creativity Boost: Morning Pages often lead to creative breakthroughs, sparking innovative ideas.
• Anxiety Reduction: Writing out worries can be therapeutic, lightening the mental load.
• Idea Generation: They're a breeding ground for brilliant ideas, proving that simplicity breeds complexity.

Week 8 Learnings: Sharpening Skills and Team Dynamics

Now, let's talk about what I learnt in Week 8. It was a rollercoaster of knowledge and growth.

Team and Leadership Skills: We delved deep into leadership types, the skills required to be an outstanding teammate, and explored the "6 C's" - the six components of effective communication.

Wireframes and Prototypes: We ventured into the world of wireframes and prototypes, understanding what they are and the tools we can use to create them.

Solution Generation: This week was all about divergent and convergent thinking, bad idea brainstorming (yes, that's a thing!), and various techniques for idea generation.

The Team Experience: Remember my team from Week 7? Well, we put our teamwork skills to the test. We engaged in both individual and group idea lists, conducted team meetings. Being a team leader was a challenging but incredibly rewarding experience. I learned that working with others isn't always a walk in the park, but effective leadership and management skills, as taught by ALX, made all the difference.

Making Informed Decisions: Evidence-based reasoning, deductive and inductive logic became our trusty companions as we learned how to make well-informed decisions.

Preparing for User Interviews: We dived into empathy, the types of questions to ask, and valuable tips for successful user interviews.

Weekly Test and Milestone #8: The ultimate test of our understanding and progress took the form of a weekly test. And Milestone #8? It was a true test of our teamwork and application of skills. We worked closely as a team to tackle various components, including our problem statement, "bad" ideas, possible ideas, top 3 ideas, the final selected solution, and action items for Week 9.

Now, let's get to the fun part! We had a blast coming up with some truly outrageous "bad" ideas. Here are a few that might just make you chuckle:

1. Develop a time machine to go back in time and prevent emergencies from happening in the first place.
2. A network of underground tunnels equipped with high-speed capsules to transport patients to hospitals.
3. Deploy self-driving ambulances that transform into flying vehicles for faster transportation of victims.
4. Training an army of robot doctors to handle medical emergencies in hospitals and remote areas.
5. Training parrots that can communicate patients' symptoms to doctors during emergencies.
6. Introduce virtual reality systems that allow first responders to teleport to emergency scenes.
7. Develop a machine to capture and preserve lives during extreme emergencies and return lives back to patients when the patient is under proper care.

And from these wild ideas, we narrowed it down to our top 3:

1. Develop a Mobile App: This app provides real-time updates on the availability of medical facilities near me in emergency situations and the availability of bed spaces in these facilities. It also predicts medical emergencies like heart attacks, alerting emergency response systems in advance and notifying specialists about the type of patient.
2. Introduce a Wearable Device: This wearable continuously monitors vital signs and sends real-time alerts to emergency services in case of abnormalities or emergencies, enabling early intervention.
3. Create a Cloud-Based Electronic Medical Record System: This system allows seamless sharing of patient information between hospitals and emergency services.

Our team's final selected solution idea is to:
