A CLEAR CONSCIENCE IS A GOOD PILLOW!
Acts 23:1"Paul, looking at the Council, said, "Brethren, l have lived my life with a perfectly good conscience before God up to this day".
"Conscience is the dog that can't bite, but never stops barking"--Proverb
"There is a higher court than courts of justice and that is the court of conscience. It supercedes all other courts".
A man's #conscience and his judgment is the same thing, as the judgement, so also the conscience, may be erroneous.
Those of us who lives in poor countries like Africa always wonder why the leaders we elect behave like they have dead conscience.
With all the poverty, suffering and scualor surrounding us our leaders acts and behaves as if they're oblivious of all the difficulties and the pressing needs of we the ordinary people in villages, towns and cities.
The questions that comes to the minds of the discerning African citizens watching the corruption, waste of scarce national resources and the profligate lifestyles of politicians are numerous. Some of the questions that discerning people who are watching the politicians and the African leaders are: Do they care? Do they have advisors? Do they know the struggles and the suffering of their ordinary citizens? Do they know people can't find clean water to drink? Do they know some students don't have tables and chairs at the basic level of education? Do they have conscience? Etc
I think the most important question we must all be asking ourselves is : DO I HAVE A GOOD CONSCIENCE?
Passing the good conscience test is always important because your conscience is the measure of the honesty of your selfishness. Listen to it carefully!
George Bencroft was right when he observed that, "Conscience is the mirror of our souls, which represents the errors of lives in full shape".
When the conscience ceases to exist, truth loses its way!

Why is keeping a good conscience so important to the Christian?
"1 Timothy 1:19"Keeping faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and suffered shipwreck in regard to their faith".
When a person is exposed to Bible study and hears what is right or wrong, his mind builds a value system. When that person becomes saved, the Holy Spirit, then dwelling within him/her, draws on his biblical values to convince him/her of right or wrong.
Hebrews 9:14 says, the blood of Christ not only saves us, but it cleanses our conscience so we understand what honors God. We call that our CHRISTIAN CONSCIENCE. To fail to obey our Christian conscience is sin according to James 4:17.
Ponder on this thoughts, "Conscience is the inner voice that warns us that someone may be looking".
