Year: 2

What are some of the things you do as a co-op student at Evercloak? I am a Coating Technician Co-op at Evercloak. My position involves a variety of tasks related to Evercloak’s research and development team. Typically, my role is focused on membrane optimization and testing, as well as working on the characterization of graphene-oxide nanoparticles.

Why did you explore this opportunity at Evercloak? I have always wanted to pursue a career that would allow me to work toward solving some of the world’s most pressing issues.?I have always been passionate about climate change and how it is drastically impacting our world.?Ever since I was young, it has been an issue I’ve wanted to be more fully involved in.?After learning about Evercloak’s breakthrough work in the use of advanced nanomaterials to aid in the minimization of greenhouse gas emissions, I knew working here would provide me with the experience I was looking for.

What do you enjoy most about your experience as a co-op student at Evercloak? I enjoy the diversity of opportunities I’ve received in relation to the work I do. The vast range of test methods and experiences I’ve had the chance to run have provided me with a diverse and unique skill set I never would have had the chance to gain at my current level of study. Working at Evercloak has helped me learn so much about the different pathways available to me in this field.

What are your goals after graduation? After graduation, I hope to pursue a master’s degree in chemical engineering and further my studies in material characterization and specialization.

What are your hopes for the future of cleantech? I’m hopeful it’s something more companies will become involved in. With the emergence of so many cleantech companies such as Evercloak, there is no excuse for major corporations to forego their environmental responsibilities.?I’m looking forward to what the rest of my term at Evercloak has to offer, and I know the experience I’ve gained here will help shape my goals for the future.
