Since Evercloak is a deep tech company, focused on developing technology that is based on scientific advances and discoveries, we require highly-trained personnel for advanced research and application work.?We enjoy working with talented budding engineers and scientists in advanced educational training programs.?

Through short-term co-op placements at Evercloak, these students are making a long-term impact when it comes to finding solutions to global climate challenges.?At Evercloak, they are given opportunities to contribute to an active and evolving industry-led R&D program, able to learn about growing a cleantech company, and receive mentorship from leaders in this field.

Meet Kevin Kwan!

School: University of Waterloo

Program: Chemical Engineering

Year: 3

What are some of the things you do as a co-op student at Evercloak? Some of my daily tasks as a co-op student at Evercloak include using CAD to prototype solutions for membrane bonding and carrying out performance tests on our current membrane modules.?I also frequently use the laser cutter and 3D printer to create parts to further evolve our current designs.

Why did you explore this opportunity at Evercloak? I have been interested in nanomaterials since I was in high school.?Working at Evercloak allows me to apply my passion and gain experience.?I also wanted to experience working for a start-up, where the culture would welcome my ideas and allow them to make an impact on the company’s future.

What do you enjoy most about your experience as a co-op student at Evercloak? I enjoy the company culture and how everyone is extremely open to ideas. Even though I’m a co-op student, I feel I’m able to influence how the membrane modules are designed.?I’m learning so much during this placement at Evercloak because of the responsibilities I’m given.

What are your goals after graduation? My goals are to explore a career in the material science or mechanical field and work on more innovative cleantech projects. I also love travelling and would like to be able to pursue these interests in a variety of locations around the world.

What are your hopes for the future of cleantech? I hope the future of cleantech will pivot towards more energy efficient designs like the ones at Evercloak.?I think Evercloak sets an example for what future processes should look like. It would be great if other companies followed in their path.
