A simple way of fundraising by doing what you do every day. It is our goal to not only help people in need in the community but also help strengthen Nothern Colorado by promoting small business.
Three years ago I was run off the road on my motorcycle and left in a ditch for over 7 hours. Suffering multiple skull, facial, and it turns out vertebra fractures, and with severe TBI related injuries, I was left with major life changes that had to be made. Being a CDL driver prior to the incident was no longer an option. I now do not know from day to day what my life holds in store. I could be high functioning, which is still only half of what I used to be able to do, or If I'm not going to be able to function at all. I am a person that, how can I say this, I am not a patient person. I loathe excuses and really do not understand "I can't" attitudes. They are crutches, they are for people who have no drive or ambition. I have a problem shutting down still today which has caused more problems than I can count. If someone comes to me and needs to help, I want to help. I will fight myself to come up with solutions. It has not always worked but I try.
I first came up with the idea that I wanted to get into event planning, but I could not come up with a way to do it that I felt comfortable with. Then, I started thinking about the people who were there for me. The people that have always come to my aide are small business owners. The people in our Northern Colorado community that will always be there are our small business friends. I say it all the time, it floors me that the people who struggle to keep their doors open will give until it literally hurts in order to help. Look, I'm not a complete idiot. I understand that you don't become a millionaire by giving away everything. But it's gotta mean something. With the Clayton Pay it Forward Fundraising Program we not only help the people in need but we help strengthen the economy by driving people into small local businesses. We are looking for companies wanting to join us, wanting to help Northern Colorado families, Veterans, first responders, 501c3's, and kids in need.
