Anthropic, a technology company founded by former OpenAI researchers, has introduced the latest version of its AI model, Claude 3. Named Claude 3, Anthropic asserts that its advanced artificial intelligence model possesses superior capabilities compared to leading models from Google and OpenAI. The standout feature of Claude 3 is its multimodal capability, allowing it to understand not only text but also images, providing a richer and more diverse interactive experience.

With Claude 3, Anthropic commits to significantly improving the ability to answer questions, understand complex instructions, and enhance contextual understanding, enabling more accurate and flexible information processing. Claude 3 itself is divided into three versions: Haiku, Sonnet, and Opus, with Opus being the highest-end version, described as the "largest and smartest AI model." Currently, Opus and Sonnet are available on the claude.ai website and through the company's API, while Haiku will be launched soon. All three versions are designed to support applications such as chatbots and data extraction.

The improvements from previous versions of Claude are quite apparent, given that earlier AI models struggled to respond to vague commands due to limitations in contextual understanding. The new models now have reduced refusal rates in response to requests, reflecting a significant advancement in maintaining safety standards without compromising interaction effectiveness.

Anthropic also confidently asserts that Claude 3 models provide near-instantaneous response speeds, even when faced with complex documents. Notably, Claude 3 "Haiku" stands out as a cost-effective solution, quickly processing research documents filled with charts and images in less than three seconds. Moreover, the Opus version demonstrates superior inference capabilities compared to competing models, including OpenAI's GPT-4, in complex evaluation tests such as postgraduate-level assessments.

On the other hand, Sonnet (considered the mid-range version of Claude 3) also garners attention with its doubled speed compared to previous Claude versions, making it ideal for tasks requiring quick responses such as knowledge retrieval or sales automation.

Anthropic has utilized data from various sources, including internal and publicly available third-party data, as well as publicly available data up to August 2023, to train Claude 3 models with hardware support from Amazon's AWS and Google Cloud. Amazon and Google have both invested in Anthropic, with Amazon alone investing $4 billion USD. Claude 3 will be integrated into AWS's Bedrock model library and Google's Vertex AI, thereby expanding its accessibility and application capabilities.

While possessing several advantages over ChatGPT, Claude still remains unfamiliar to many Vietnamese users.

This includes the ability to provide more accurate information, as ChatGPT often generates seemingly reasonable but inaccurate information. Conversely, Claude prioritizes authenticity, avoiding logical contradictions or clearly erroneous content.

In terms of safety, Claude, with its Constitution AI architecture, stays far away from dangerous responses, helping protect users and limit societal harm from its widespread use. Furthermore, Claude can acknowledge its ignorance, refusing to answer questions when lacking necessary information, building user trust and preventing the spread of misinformation.

Claude particularly focuses on receiving feedback from users to continuously improve its performance. When making mistakes, Claude readily adjusts its responses, creating a continuous feedback and error correction loop, allowing for rapid improvement.

In terms of consistency, Claude demonstrates more stability than ChatGPT, especially when handling cases where users attempt to deceive it. Claude's responses often accurately track the context and adjust to fit previous statements.

The specifications of Claude's large language models also demonstrate several noteworthy points. For example, Claude 2.1, an upgrade from Claude, introduced in November 2023, features a context window of up to 200,000 tokens, allowing it to process large amounts of information—about 150,000 words or over 500 pages of text. This opens up possibilities for the model to handle and analyze complex data, from programming code segments to financial reports, in a more profound and efficient manner.
