As you might have heard, Anthropic’s Claude 2 has just launched as a competitor to ChatGPT. Its cutoff date is much more recent – in 2023. So I was curious about how it will list the platforms and technologies for Digital Transformation vs. ChatGPT. I was pleasantly surprised. Check this answer and compare it to the one from ChatGPT in Part III of the series.
Here are some of the key technologies/platforms/tools that are essential for digital transformation:
- Cloud Computing - Moving infrastructure, apps, and services to the cloud provides flexibility, scalability, and cost savings that are critical for digital initiatives. Top platforms include AWS, Azure, GCP.
- Mobile Applications - Having enterprise apps and customer-facing apps optimized for mobile is crucial today. Mobile app development platforms like React Native, Flutter, Xamarin are very popular.
- Analytics & Big Data - Leveraging data through analytics tools like Big Query, Snowflake, etc. and business intelligence platforms enables data-driven decision making.
- AI/ML - AI/ML technologies like machine learning, NLP, computer vision allow for intelligent features and automation. Key platforms are TensorFlow, PyTorch, Azure ML.
- IoT - Connecting physical devices and assets provides more data and automation. IoT platforms like AWS IoT Core, Azure IoT, and edge computing.
- Automation - RPA, BPM, and workflow automation tools streamline operations and reduce costs. Leading options include UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Microsoft Power Automate.
- AR/VR - Immersive technologies can enhance training, manufacturing, field work and customer engagement. Unity, Unreal Engine are popular development platforms.
- Low-code/No-code - Empowering non-technical users to build apps quickly without coding through platforms like Appian, Mendix, Outsystems.
- APIs and Microservices - APIs and microservices architectures enable agility and innovation. API gateways like Apigee, MuleSoft, and service meshes like Istio.
- Hybrid/Multi-cloud - Blending private clouds and multiple public clouds provides optimal configuration and prevents vendor lock-in. Platforms like VMware Cloud, RedHat OpenShift.
The mix of technologies will vary by industry and specific business needs, but investing in these key areas forms a foundation for digital success.
Notice the inclusion of Low Code/No Code - among others. More on perspectives in Part IV.
