Designer Spotlight: Alicia Smith

Having been with Classy Closets for a little over two years, Alicia found her calling as a designer from her passion for creative expression and a strong belief in the seamless blend of aesthetics and design. What Alicia enjoys most about her role at Classy Closets is the chance to unleash her creativity and collaborate closely with clients, transforming their visions into reality.

“Design, for me, is a way of life—a channel for expressing enthusiasm and creativity. I’m drawn to the power of design. I aim to create experiences that leave a lasting impression on my clients,” says Alicia Smith.?

Alicia is most proud of the Mystic Master Closet she recently designed that won the Classy Closets 2023 Design Competition.

“There was a lot of effort that went into making the client's vision work. There were so many elements and details to implement. Seeing them all brought together cohesively really brings me a sense of joy and satisfaction,” says Alicia.?

Alicia’s vision for the mystic master closet was to give her clients a fusion of contemporary and traditional aesthetics to match the style of the home, while still providing the functionality needed in a closet.?

“The clients requested something elegant and grand, with glass and mirrors, stone tops, crown molding, and lighting displays,” says Alicia .?

Alicia integrated glass doors and illuminated shelving in the Mystic Master Closet to showcase her client's designer purses and shoes. Mirrored doors not only offer a full-length reflection but also create an illusion of a larger space. Additional elements include an elongated hanging space for dresses and coats, a hidden hamper, and two jewelry drawers.

For those aspiring to create a luxurious closet, Alicia says that you don't need to have a perfect vision for the space. Instead, it’s crucial to understand what items need to be stored and how you envision utilizing the space.

Best Design of 2023

In the ever-changing world of design, certain storage solutions manage to stand out, capturing a unique blend of functionality and aesthetic appeal. Classy Closets is proud to announce the winner of the 2023 Design of the Year Competition: The Mystic Master Closet designed by Alicia Smith! This masterpiece is adorned with a stone top, Bergamo style doors, a glass display for purses, mirrored doors, a center island with a hidden hamper, jewelry drawers, and lighting detail. Review of the Month:

We had a really great experience with Classy Closets, and I would absolutely recommend them! We purchased a Pulte home and needed storage for the primary closet, laundry room and small mudroom area. I googled and found three different companies that I wanted to interview. Jody, our designer, was the last person to come out and meet us. I had some ideas of what I wanted for the rooms, but she really took it up a notch. I mentioned to Jody a few of the things we were looking for: dirty laundry baskets, center island and shelving because we won't have furniture in our bedroom for clothes. She got to work, and we were thrilled with what we saw. Jody even suggested instead of chrome bars to hang the clothes that we could use black ones. Matt and Mark came out to do the installation, and they are rock stars. They asked a few questions when installing because they saw one or two things that they thought might work better for us and they were absolutely correct. These guys really cared about their work product, and I have NO COMPLAINTS whatsoever with the installation. They cleaned up everything after they were done, all I had to do was move my clothes in. I honestly believe that the photos speak for themselves. There are no words to describe how happy we are with the finished product. Classy Closets OC had the pleasure of collaborating with Rebecca Robeson , an accomplished interior designer with over three decades of experience. Together, we embarked on a transformative journey to enhance the guest bedroom in her latest modern home remodel.

The initial room featured a double reach-in closet with built-in desks, creating a home office vibe. However, the homeowner envisioned a welcoming guest bedroom rather than a workspace, prompting Rebecca to craft a design that would make guests feel truly at home.

The result is nothing short of spectacular – the once humble reach-in closets have been transformed into an exquisite guest room oasis. This revamped space boasts a plethora of thoughtful features, including a glass-top jewelry drawer that allows for a stylish and practical view of accessories without the need to open the drawer. Glass shelves add an elegant touch, ideal for showcasing handbags, while side cubbies with baskets provide a convenient spot for guests to store their belongings.

To elevate the guest experience further, the design incorporates a built-in wine fridge, ensuring that refreshments are always within reach. A dedicated compartment for luggage discreetly stores suitcases, preventing any post-unpacking clutter. The inclusion of mirror doors amplifies the sense of space and functionality, and meticulous lighting arrangements enhance every aspect of the room – from inside the closet to the surrounding areas, shelves, and cubbies.
