Classification of Tensile Membrane Materials

Classification of Tensile Membrane Materials

Membrane classification

At present, the widely recognized standard of building film is The A, B and C categories stipulated in JISA-93 in Japan, which are divided according to the advantages and disadvantages of its fire protection.

Class A

Class A is the best, with fiberglass fabric as the substrate coated PTFE;

Class B

Class B, with fiberglass fabric as the substrate coated PVC;

Class C

Class C is the most of the three categories, with polyester (polyester) fabric scrawled PVC on the substrate. By coating material, there are Teflon (PTFE), PFLE (PVDF), Polyfluoroethylene (PVF), PVC, polyurethane

(PU), rubber, etc.

PTFE building film

PTFE film is a material coated with Teflon resin on ultrafine fiberglass fabrics. This film has good welding performance, excellent UV resistance, anti-aging performance and flame retardant properties. In addition, its anti-fouling self-cleaning is the best of all building film, but the flexibility is poor, construction is more difficult, the cost is also very amazing. Some companies jointly develop permanent film. The processing method is to put the fiberglass fabric into the Teflon melt many times, so that the fabric has a uniform Teflon on both sides, so that the permanent PTFE membrane is officially born. Since then, the permanent membrane structure has been officially popular in the United States, and many scholars have carried out in-depth research on the membrane structure. 20 years after the tracking test results show that the mechanical properties and chemical stability of this film material only decreased by 20% to 30%, the color is almost unchanged, the surface of the membrane is smooth, elastic, the atmosphere of dust, chemical particles are extremely difficult to attach and penetrate, by rain washed the building film can restore its original clean surface and light transmission, This is enough to show the strong vitality of PTFE film and broad market prospects. At present, the development and application of this kind of film material abroad is more mature, manufacturers are also many.

Glass fiber PVC building film

The development and application of this film material is relatively early, usually stipulated that PVC coating in the glass fiber fabric at the intersection of the latitude and longitude of the thickness can not be less than 0.2mm, the general coating will not be too thick, to meet the use requirements can be. In order to improve PVC's own aging resistance, coating often add some light, thermal stabilizers, light transparent products should be added a certain amount of ultraviolet absorbent, dark products often add carbon black as a stabilizer. There are also many ways to surface treatment of PVC, which can be applied to a very thin metal film or sprayed with aluminum mist on the upper layer of THE PVC to prevent surface adhesion and staining with mica or quartz.

Glass fiber silicone resin building film

Silicone resin has excellent resistance to high and low temperature, water resistance, antioxidant and so on, the film has a high tensile strength and elastic modulus, but also has good light transmission. Vestar film on the use of this resin on the fiberglass coating and made, at present, this film application is not much, manufacturers are also less.

Glass fiber synthetic rubber building film

Synthetic rubber (e.g. butyl rubber, neoprene) has good toughness, is stable for sunlight, ozone, thermal aging, with outstanding wear resistance, chemical resistance and flame retardant resistance, can achieve translucent state, but because of easy yellowing, it is generally used for dark coating. Puffed PTFE building film. The base cloth woven from puffed PTFE fiber is affixed to the fluorine resin film on both sides, which is to puff out the PTFE building film. Because its cost is too high, the general building takes into account the cost and performance of both aspects, rarely choose this film, the current foreign manufacturers are not many.

ETFE Building Film

Made directly from ETFE (ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene copolymer) ingredients. ETFE not only has excellent impact resistance, electrical performance, thermal stability and chemical resistance, but also high mechanical strength, good processing performance. In recent years, the application of ETFE film can replace other products in many ways and show strong advantages and market prospects. This film material light transmission is particularly good, known as "soft glass", light quality, only 1% of the same size glass; Self-cleaning makes the surface less prone to contamination, and rain water is washed away to remove a small amount of contaminated dirt, cleaning cycle is about 5 years. In addition, ETFE membranes can be prepared out-of-the-box into thin-film bubbles for easy construction and maintenance. ETFE also has shortcomings, such as the external environment easy to damage materials and cause leakage, maintenance costs are high, but with the construction of large stadiums, tourist venues, terminals, etc. , ETFE more highlight their advantages. At present, there are very few companies producing this film, only a few companies can provide ETFE film, the research and application of this film in developed countries abroad is only more than a decade of history.

Interesting, but what does JISA mean?
