Classic automotive lamp mold structure analysis ??
During mold design, automotive molds have always been considered difficult, sometimes get a product feel helpless to start, today to share a set of classic automotive lamp mold structure, hope in the future if you meet such kinds of products, can bring you some inspiration in mold design.
?
1. Mold gate types:
There are many types of gate, pin point gate, side gate, direct gate, submarine gate, banana gate, edge gate, pin point gate to edge gate, etc. This set automotive lamp mold using hot runner to cold runner with submarine gate, show as below picture:
?
2. We can see from the slope of the product that there is a horizontal slider in front of the product, a slanted slider at the back of the product, two tunnel sliders on the right side of the product, and?a rear lifter?at the back of the mold, the results of the analysis are shown as below picture:
?
3.?There is a horizontal slider in front of the product, according to the ordinary slider design, such small slider design should pay attention to the strength of the slider and process, due to the line position inserts need heat treatment, in order to reduce stress concentration, need?to transition around the line positions with rounded corners, as shown in the following figure.
?
4.?There is a slanted undercut on the back of the product, and two tunnel sliders on the right side, in order to reduce the matching length of the slanted guide pins, the slanted guide pins are fixed by the press. In order to improve the processing, the tunnel slider?inserts?are fixed on the top of the line-position seat?with?the T-slot, which is easily accessible for line cutting, as shown in the picture below.
5.?The core?mold has a lifter, there is an insert pin under the lifter.?When designing this kind of lifter, be careful that the lifter?cannot interfere with the pin, and the lifter design should follow?the normal standard, as shown in the figure below.

2 年It all looks truly great! I miss only one thing for you to reach optical perfection, it is implementation of Roctool Heat & Cool technology. Using that, you would increase surface replication from the tool to the plastics from 50-60% up to 95%. See www.roctool.com for more information.
