Class of 2023 Interns Share their Expectations and Thoughts on Perdue's Company Culture

Recently we?welcomed?our Class of 2023 interns! Company-wide, we have over 35 interns representing 25 universities across the country.?

We sat down with them to get an understanding about what they are hoping to learn and how they view our culture at Perdue?thus far.?

“What do you hope to gain from your internship?”?I hope to develop my managerial skills as well as gain insight in the poultry industry. For example: What sets it apart from other animal farming industry and how Perdue Farm operates within industry.

“From your time here so far, how would you describe the company culture of Perdue?”?Since my time here at Perdue Farms, I have been shocked at the family-oriented culture surrounding the company. Since my first day, employees throughout the plant have helped me understand their area and answer any questions I may have.?

?“What do you hope to gain from your internship?”?I want to learn about Perdue’s business operations and how IT works on supporting those operations. I also want to explore and expand on my programming skills as I work on the projects that I’ve been assigned.

“From your time here so far, how would you describe the company culture of Perdue?”?Perdue emphasizes a culture of family/teamwork and integrity, which from my experience, is demonstrated strongly through the actions of all the employees I’ve interacted with. For example, I’ve felt welcomed and valued as an intern by everyone.

?“What do you hope to gain from your internship?”?I hope to gain valuable insight into the applications of industrial engineering in food processing. Throughout my short time at Perdue so far, I have learned that much more goes on behind the scenes, from preparing raw materials to getting the finished product out the door.??

“From your time here so far, how would you describe the company culture of Perdue?”?The company culture at Perdue is welcoming and genuine while remaining true to its main goal of providing high-quality products.

?“What do you hope to gain from your internship?”?I hope to gain a detailed grasp on how the supply chain of Perdue operates, gaining knowledge through each department involved in the production and movement of chicken.

“From your time here so far, how would you describe the company culture of Perdue?”?I would describe the company culture at Perdue as being very outgoing, cooperative, and friendly. Every single employee in the corporate office has been friendly and helpful with me as I learn the different aspects of Perdue’s supply chain.
