Here we are, at the start of yet another week in ‘lockdown’, but it’s a week that’ll hopefully bring us clarity in terms of understanding exactly how and when we’ll be able to get moving again.
And for those of us with fleets, there’s a lot to consider, which is why we’ll be hanging on every word of the Government briefing each day – the more information we get, the better informed we’ll be.
But what Boris and the other ministers won’t help you with is what your specific fleet strategy should be, and that’s where we come in.
Our live Zoom call, tomorrow at 1pm, focuses on what life will look like in the days, weeks and months after the lockdown, and the things you need to consider to make your fleet as efficient and cost effective as possible.
Here’s a reminder of what we’re going to be covering:
- How behaviour and attitude towards public transport has changed, the impact that will have on business travel, and what that means for your fleet
- A strategy for managing the downtime risk from breakdowns and MOT overload – with MOTs extended for six months, and less servicing taking place, more vehicle breakdowns are inevitable – how you manage the potential downtime will be critical for your fleet
- The increase in remote working, and how to manage a situation where company vehicles and grey fleet vehicles aren’t regularly inspected.
- The move towards electric vehicles, with the pandemic resulting in huge carbon emission reductions, widely welcomed in an otherwise tragic situation. Can your fleet cope with increased electric demand, and how would you need to change your working practices?
- Mileage reduction, the impact on your cost base and you might be able to reduce costs by renegotiating and rescheduling agreements.
If you’re responsible for a fleet, then I think you’ll find it really useful, so make sure you register, and you’ll get a reminder to join at the right time.
