Clandestine Meetings with Dr. Geist in his Workshop

The Workshop

Not long after Dr. Barbaria's death therapy ceased with both Dr. Pogany and Dr. Fortgang. Now I was only seeing Dr. Geist. I was drinking exceptionally heavily and needed more help than the 40 minutes Dr. Geist was giving me. He said he could not give me another session no matter what. I was mourning Dr. Barbaria's death because even though he was unethical I still loved him.

So, we agreed that I could see Dr. Geist for a few minutes in his workshop, which was on the side of his house. I drove twenty- five minutes each way for him to (in-between patients) run down the stairs to his workshop, open the door and allow me to fall into his arms! This only lasted no longer than three minutes!!! I was that hung up on him! I thought it would help my drinking. But I only felt belittled like I did when he only offered me ten minutes of his time in-between patients after I got a job and left therapy.

Of course, this was unethical, meeting outside his office and going into his workshop only to hold him for a few minutes after a twenty-five-minute drive! And then turn right around and drive back another twenty-five minutes! I can’t believe he couldn’t see me falling apart right in front of him, right in his very arms. I couldn’t believe he was breadcrumming me after all these years, giving me only scraps of his time! I had no one else now to talk about this. At this point I was tired and worn down from being with unethical shrinks. I told him I was drinking heavily, I told him I was stealing and doing pornography. It just didn’t matter to him.
