As the year comes to an end, it feels great to look back at all the challenges and achievements that shaped #CIVIS in 2024! This week, we revisit our journey from January to March – a period of impactful projects and inspiring collaborations:

  • #PolyCIVIS Tackles the Polycrisis January saw the first PolyCIVIS Brussels Conference, uniting academics and policymakers to address interconnected global crises. A keynote by Prof. Malte Brosig challenged us to rethink solutions with a holistic, interdisciplinary approach for Europe and Africa.

  • #ScienceUs: Citizen Science for Climate Action Launched on 26 January, ScienceUs works on building a European network of citizen science projects focused on climate change adaptation. Backed by Horizon Europe, the initiative empowers local projects to create global impact through funding, training, and mentoring.

  • #DiscoverCIVIS: A Journey Through our Alliance Starting 14 March, CIVIS embarked on a vibrant Instagram campaign exploring our 11 Member Universities. Through illustrations, student stories, and iconic landmarks, #DiscoverCIVIS celebrated the diversity and spirit of our Alliance.
