The Civil Service
Extract from letter of March 2024 to A State Senator
?In so far as I am concerned, NOT one Public/Civil Servant throughout Australia should be paid more than 4 x times the current Minimum wage, and furthermore, their service must be tenured at ten years.
The only exceptions to this wage/salary to the above are the Head of the Defence Force, ASIO, Signals Directorate CSIRO, Governor of the Reserve Bank, the Head of the Australian Federal Police, Secretaries of the Federal Departments and the incumbent Cabinet Ministers who should be paid 5 x times the minimum wage.
State and Federal Politicians are also to be paid 4 x times the current minimum wage.
I am very confident in suggesting that if Australians demanded these changes, we would attract a higher calibre of individual(s) into Civil Service and into Politics because their motivation would be driven by serving others, NOT themselves.
Unfortunately, most of us know that in Australia, Civil Service and Politics has evolved to become an assured way for many with absolutely no qualifications or sagacious qualities whatsoever, many are just “doofas”, there to enrich themselves, and this to me is an absolute disgrace.
What we have now hardly endears people to trust and respect both Civil Servants and Politicians.
Indeed, with few exceptions, they DON’T!
