City Year UK 10th Anniversary

Yesterday EY hosted our Opening Day to celebrate City Year UK's 10th anniversary and 10 years of dedicated service and social action to bring about educational equality. It was great to have such an esteemed group of colleagues and leaders from the Unites States of America including the Co founder of City Year Inc Michael Brown, AnnMaura Connolly EVP and Chief Strategy Officer, Jim Balfanz, CY Inc President and Shanuah Beamon, General Counsel. This was also the first time that we have brought our three regions, London, West Midlands and Manchester together, to bring home the point that they are part of something big and very special. The speeches and founding stories were great including from City Year UK CEO Kevin Munday and the spoken word by Mojib Ali, was fantastic and really reflected the impact his year of service had made on both his focus list students but also on himself.

The alumni panel made up of School Volunteer Mentors from over the last 10 years chaired by Rodney Williams was also very powerful and showed the positive impact that the programme has on the careers of those who participate.

Big thanks to Meredith Hanson (City Year Inc) and City Year UK Leadership Team, Managers and Staff for all of their hard work in making the day such a special day, and to our guest who came along to show support on the day. Thank You!

Finally a massive Well Done & Thank You to the Regional Programme Managers, Impact Officers and most importantly the School Volunteer Mentors.

You were all phenomenal!!!
