City and Guilds Group acquire Intertrain UK Ltd

Today marks a big moment for Intertrain, and rail training in the UK, as Intertrain officially joins City & Guilds Group as their latest acquired business. 

City & Guilds Group is a world leader in demand-led skills development. Headquartered in London and with offices around the world, it has several businesses with a shared purpose of changing people’s lives through skills development. Which is why I am excited that Intertrain joins other leading business such as Gen2, ILM, Kineo, The Oxford Group, and City & Guilds. 

This is an exciting next step in our journey, the acquisition provides Intertrain, our employees, customers and learners with significant investment and opportunities in digital learner platforms and blended learning that will meet with the demands of the STEM markets, particularly within rail. This technology will see Intertrain develop innovative strategies that will enhance and encourage safety, ultimately providing a safer and more productive railway.

Over the coming months, I will work closely with City & Guilds Group Director, Martin Hottass to fully integrate Intertrain into the Technical Training arm of City & Guilds Group, building a strengthened, integrated offering that meets our vision to innovate training and competence in the railway industry through our combined experience. 

This is a very exciting time for Intertrain, I look forward to the future we have ahead of us, and the bigger impact we can have on the rail industry as a whole.
