Jeevan has provided detailed insights ahead of his sessions 'Best Practices for Effective Cyber Crisis Management' & 'Building Inclusive Technology Leadership: DEI in CISO offices.'

Q. Could you please give us a quick summary of your session at the event?

A. I am excited to be a part of the event. This is my second time here. I will be a speaker on the 'Incident Response: Best Practices for Effective Cyber Crisis Management.' topic and also a panelist later in the evening on 'Building Inclusive Technology Leadership: DEI in CISO offices.' I have attended the CIO/CISO events hosted by CDM Media earlier this year in New York and am excited to be a part of this great networking event again.

Q. How would you define the term "incident response" in the context of your presentation?

A. Incident response management is a systematic strategy that allows an organization to address cybersecurity incidents and security breaches

Q. Why do you think addressing incident response and its best practices for effective cyber crisis management is relevant currently, specifically?

A. We live in a highly volatile world and despite the best frameworks, threat management tools, processes and technologies? we have; no one is RISK PROOF from the next Security attack. In order to effectively manage a cyber crisis, its imperative that an organization prepare well for an actual attack (well tested Cyber Incident Response Plan, communication protocols and data backup and recovery mechanism to be ready when an attack potentially comes through.

Q. In your opinion, what are the key challenges that organizations typically face when attempting to address the best practices for effective cyber crisis management?

A. There are many challenges but my top 3 would be as below:

  • Not Enough Budget Spend Dedicated to Security.

  • Not Staying Up to Date and on Current Security Trends and Lack of Understanding of New Security Threats.
  • Prioritization of Other Technology Initiatives.

A. Security professionals who want to understand the best practices for incident response and cyber crisis management

Q. Without revealing all your secrets, what are the two top takeaways attendees will gain by the end of your session?

A. Understanding best practice and strategies for Incident Response and Cyber crisis management

Learn from case studies (well managed and not so effectively managed Cyber crisis Incidents.

Q. Where does your passion for your role come from, and what’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone following your footsteps?

A. I? have been a student for life an follow the path of continuous improvement. The advise I would give folks is to stay relevant on their security journey and aways put their best foot forward when the opportunity arises.

Q. What was it about the CIO/CISO New York & BFSI Summit that stood out to you as an environment in which you would like to share your knowledge and expertise?

A. Met a lot of industry professionals, some of whom I am still in touch with. A lots of learnings and some best practices that I have adopted at my work place.
