Cities of Tomorrow’s roundtables have almost come to an end

Cities of Tomorrow’s #roundtables, the pre-conference in depth talks, have almost come to an end. There were three and a half days of intensive discussions on a variety of topics affecting our everyday life in the cities and communities. ?

Participants to the round tables represented all walks of life, from private companies, to public administration, civil society, banking, urban planning, real estate, chambers of commerce and industry, industrial clusters, technology providers. They approached issues such as:

  • safety in the cities, including measures for a better preparedness for the earthquakes, technological and legal solutions for buildings’ consolidation;
  • circular economy, which focused on waste management and recycling, preservation of the environment;
  • constructions laws;
  • green mobility in cities;
  • different ways to make cities more energy efficient and more digital;
  • reconversion and revitalization solutions.

Of course, all these transformations require important financing solutions and therefore, aspects like how to fund these investments and available financial resources were also discussed.

Last but not least, people need to enjoy their free time in cities/ communities. That was the reason why two round tables were dedicated to leisure activities. The table “Tourism, Lifestyle & Culture” focused on revitalisation of the lakes and rivers in and around the cities and the table “Work & Life Balance” shared the new working needs and models in today’s world and contemporary workplace design.

The conclusions of the round tables will be presented at the conference #CitiesOfTomorrow. It will take place on the 28th March at Crowne Plaza Bucharest and will bring together almost 300 participants. On this occasion, the winners of the project competition organized prior to this event will be awarded for best solutions found to improve the quality of life in the city/community.

And one more time round tables with valuable input. The same, as usual, is to expect for the conference day on Tuesday - online and physical. For sure: I recommend participating!
