Cities demonstrate commitment to climate neutral future
Following the unsettling results of the European elections, Eurocities and our members are already taking decisive action to ensure cities' commitment to climate neutrality is recognised at EU level. ?
Despite gains for far right politicians, and threats to weaken the European Green Deal, cities gathered at the Cities Mission Conference in Valencia to emphasise the importance of a green, just and resilient future.?
In addition to their net zero ambitions, cities had reason to celebrate recently as the European Council finally approved the Nature Restoration Law. It was a big victory for local leaders who have repeatedly called for the crucial legislation to be agreed.?
Our members also took part in the Eurocities Social Affairs Forum in Vantaa where they underlined the need to implement the social agenda, and we launched our important 'Women City Leaders Mentorship Programme .'?
