Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure #CiscoACI
Early in year 2021, our journey in transitioning to Cisco ACI truly reflects the intricate nature of major infrastructure changes. The decision-making process itself was a meticulous journey involving stakeholder alignment and a vision centered around the automation capabilities of Cisco ACI .
Setting up a staging area in the production site L4-L& infrastructure, Virtualization Infrastructure #VMWare and other L3/L2 devices devices you can imagine being that we had an existing and running infrastructure was a wise move, especially considering the shift from a non-ACI compliant infrastructure to Cisco ACI. Managing the deployment statistics while dealing with a brownfield infrastructure further emphasizes the complexity of such a transformation.
The constant review and fine-tuning, both during day and night, to align instances, documentation, and scenarios with the project vision highlight the dedication and resilience needed in these endeavors.
Success, as we've rightly stated, isn't a linear path. In my experience, navigating through complex projects often involves unexpected turns, challenges, and the need for adaptability. Each obstacle becomes an opportunity for growth, learning, and refining strategies. It's in these moments of uncertainty and complexity that the most significant lessons are learned, shaping both the project's outcome and the team's capabilities.
Challenging projects also foster a sense of camaraderie and teamwork within the group. Oftentimes, facing such difficulties together can strengthen team bonds and create a shared sense of accomplishment when milestones are achieved.
We have cut-over the infrastructure to production for the past two years and still counting, . If you agree success is not a straight line, share your experience.
