The Circus

The Ring Leader announces the circus is open today
From the Big Top
The crowds cheer -as the entertainment gets underway
Swinging trapeze artists way up high
Summersaulting in the air
Catching each other with dutiful care
They make it look easy with their artistic moves
The wire walker joins in the show high above
The children below stare up in wonder
Smiles on their faces they're enjoying the show
Candy floss and Ice cream the order of the day
Whilst they watch their parents pay
The lion tamer shows how he's tamed the wild beast
They follow every instruction with relative ease
The elephants do a wonderful balancing act
Followed by the clowns and acrobats
Laughter fills the air with the clowns clumsy ways
Everyone escapes from their mundane routine
Their minds free to wander and enjoy the display
The fire breathers juggle and flames rise in the air
Their acts look risky but they do them with flare
The big top a hive of activity today
The energy exciting with possibilities
Magic acts that put you on the edge of your seat
Followed by the cannon -firing a clown a few feet across the room
Landing safely on the trampoline
Following the sound of a big boom!
A round of applause as he hits the marked spot
Everyone enjoying this marvellous show
The Circus a great place for families to go
Building fond memories and care free days
Supporting the performers by watching them there
Appreciating their art and showing you care
With every good show the end is in sight
They all take a bow and say their -
Good night
The orchestra plays as everyone leaves
Wonderful moments
Colourful costumes and faultless acts
Remembered fondly when they look back
The night has been vibrant and fun for all
Smiles on all faces and positive vibes
The Circus has brought out all their bright sides
It's a shame that there is not many left in town
For me the circus was the best show around x
