"Beliefs have the power to create and the power to destroy." - Tony Robbins

One of the most famous success books of all time is Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.

Imagine, if Napoleon Hill was still alive, he would send you a chapter of that famous book once per week along with suggestions of how to make the most of it.

Well, sadly, the esteemed Mr. Hill died over 50 years ago. So, that isn't possible.

But, you do have an opportunity to have yours truly do something similar.

Now, I am not claiming to be like Napoleon Hill.

But, through extensive study and practical application I have learned things that lead to success.

I have written some of those things down in books to help you have a shorter learning curve than I have had.

And, in case you missed my post about this last week, I am sending each of my books in their entirety via email. (At NO Charge!)

They are being delivered one chapter at a time and, in addition to the books' content, I will be sharing advice about how to get the most out of each chapter.

Yesterday, the first in that series of emails went out to those who have already subscribed.

It was the first part of my first book, Discovering Your Greatness: A Higher Level Thinking and Action Guide.

I am sharing it here for your benefit and to encourage you to subscribe to receive a chapter a week along with periodic suggestions from me as to how to get the most benefit from that.

If and when you are ready to subscribe, you can do that here.

Here's to your success!

Author’s Note

This guide is designed to be practical. ?It is brief on purpose.? Do not mistake its brevity for a lack of effectiveness. ?It works.

Years of study and practical application have gone into compiling and refining the processes contained here.? If you are the kind of person who is willing to be open minded and prove to yourself through application that the processes contained here are valid, this guide is all the reading that is required.? If you are analytical and seek to understand why these processes work I suggest you read Psycho-Cybernetics by Dr. Maxwell Maltz.

I would like to provide you with two thoughts that have made a big difference to me in my pursuit of being the best me possible.

?

It’s what you learn after you know it all that makes all the difference in the world.

A mind is like an umbrella. It works much better when it is open.

?

By making learning a life-long experience and keeping an open mind, you will become truly happy and successful.

?

Have a great life!

Hello Friend

You are not here by chance or accident.? I believe we all have a unique purpose.? For some it may, so far, be undiscovered.? Others live their entire life without discovering it.? If you are reading this it is your time to discover yours now.

People are born with two innate desires.? They have the desire for wealth and a desire to help other people.? Consider for a moment how those two notions make you feel, and you will realize that is a true statement.? Now here is a startling revelation:

Those two desires can and should follow the same path.

Does that sound crazy?? What if it is true?? If it really were possible to seek wealth and help other people at the same time, how would that make you feel?? It not only is possible, but seeking wealth through service to others is the greatest thing you can do for mankind.? By focusing your energy towards satisfying both of these innate desires simultaneously, you will achieve true happiness and true wealth.

This book is designed to take you on a journey of discovery. ?It is designed to help you find the true you. ?Regardless of where you have been or what you have accomplished -or not accomplished- in your life so far, you have greatness inside you. ?We all do. ?Your future does not have to equal your past. ?The processes contained in this guide are designed to bring out that special man or woman you were born to be.

It is also intended to help you find your clearest, best path to gaining the wealth you seek. ?Everything you need to accomplish your objective is already there. ?You just aren’t aware of it yet. ?Once you have discovered a new level of self-belief, you can then use your knowledge, experience, creative imagination, and intuition to find ideas and solutions that mutually benefit you and other people. ?That is the path to true wealth.

If you use it as instructed, this guide will help you get started toward the discovery and better use of your unique gifts. ?By applying the processes in this book, you will begin to understand your purpose and how to apply it to the benefit of all.

One final note before we dive in. ?Just thinking about something isn’t enough. ?Even if you come up with the greatest idea, solution or plan, it does no one any good until it is acted upon. ?You must take action. ?Fortunately, by using this system your actions will be focused by inspiration. ?

Make this your personal philosophy:

THINK and DO!

Section One - Finding Your True Self

Your Self Talk

Circus Elephants

Do you know how elephants are trained for the circus??

When they are very young they are chained to a stake in the ground.? Being spirited creatures, they pull on the chain trying to get away. ?Over and over they try but to no avail. ?They aren't strong enough yet to break away from that little chain and stake in the ground. ?Soon they become convinced that it is impossible to break away. ?They believe that they can't do it so they quit trying.

An enormous adult elephant being held in place by a small chain tied to a stake in the ground looks ridiculous. ?There is no way that tiny chain and stake can keep them where they are. ?In fact, the chain isn't what keeps them there. ?They have become convinced that they cannot break free and it is this belief that keeps them where they are. ?As an adult, if they would pull on that chain their belief would be changed and they would be free. ?

Human beings are no different. ?They are chained in place as well. ?The chains are their beliefs and they keep people tied to ‘their place’.

There have been many influences in your life that have led you to the beliefs you have. ?Every emotional experience shapes our beliefs. ?

You may love chocolate. ?But if you ate so much of it that you became physically ill you would then associate eating chocolate with becoming ill. ?A new perspective and belief would be formed. ?From then on chocolate wouldn’t be a delicious treat. ?You would perceive it to be a substance that makes you ill. ?

Is that the truth? ?Or is it your belief based on that one experience of consuming too much?

Other big influences in our lives are authority figures like parents, grandparents, teachers, and even older siblings. ?These are all people that we looked up to. ?‘Respect your elders’ is something often heard by children. ?

So, when these authority figures told us something, to us, it was an emotional experience and we accepted their word as ‘the truth’. ?It became a belief. ?These beliefs color our perceptions. ?Consequently, even if we see incontrovertible proof that one of our beliefs is not true; to us it is still true. ?

Our perceptions are our realities. ?

Because our beliefs control our automatic responses we still act as if it is true.

Here are some examples of statements you may have heard:

You are terrible at math.

That’s what our family’s always done.

Rich people aren’t happy.

You’ll never amount to anything.

You can’t do that. ?It’s impossible.

Your beliefs color how you see yourself and the world around you. ?In fact, we always find evidence to ‘prove’ our subconscious beliefs. ?Your current beliefs have brought you to where you are. ?

The way you habitually do things is based on those beliefs. ?

They define your self-image. ?

They tell you who you are and where you belong. ?

You act automatically in accordance with that. ?

If your self-image is that of a person who ‘never has a lot of money’ you will find ways to make this true. ?If your self-image is that of a person who is (too short, too fat, not smart enough, etc…) you will recall evidence that confirms this ‘fact’. ?Unless you change your subconscious beliefs, you will never change your self-image and therefore won’t take appropriate actions necessary to change your circumstances.

The good news is that you can consciously change your beliefs. ?

As you begin to change your self-image you will begin to see things differently and take different actions. ?Circumstances will seem different. ?You will recognize opportunities and begin to act upon them. ?You will begin to recall evidence that proves your new self-image. ?

These opportunities and events were always there. ?You just could not see them because they were not congruent with your self-image. ?It’s like when you buy a different car. ?You never noticed that model and color car before. ?Now that you drive one, they seem to be everywhere. ?They were there before, weren’t they? ?You just did not notice them.
