Circumvention: The action of overcoming a problem or difficulty in a clever and surreptitious way.
In my industry ( Credit card processing ) this is a problem. This is only due to the fact that we get paid percentages on a monthly basis from the mark ups that we put on top of set rate credit and debit transactions and sell them to businesses all over the place. The rule of thumb is that the more closer you are to the main source the more money you get in whole. When you go to a company who goes through another company who even goes through another company that is =actually= directly linked to the acquiring bank then your money gets watered down quicker than an ounce of blow in the inner city. Everyone wants the main source and in some cases it is sickening. Agents who fancy themselves wise businessmen will set up meetings to speak to sales managers in independent sales organizations only to b.s for hours to try and find out where the hell are these guy linked to, they will hear the name of the bank, get off the phone quickly and faster than a hooker can steal your wallet call the bank themselves only to work out an even worse deal than they would have got in the first place by dealing with the ISO. But hey the feel like they are directly connected.
Some of the things that happen are: Slower underwriting processes, Less attention given by relationship managers that have a larger group to manage, higher transaction fee's that they can buy and sell and they will lose on large accounts where the transaction fee is all that you have.less support for technical issues and what have you. I am not saying that being boarded under one company than another is better or not but what I am saying is that you may waste your time and miss out on opportunity in the meantime trying to be greedy.
Right now as of March almost pushing into April 2019 and CBD being dropped by Elavon, everyone is feeling especially sharky indeed. The need to cut in front of the line is pressing more than ever and if you really look at what is happening there are allot of companies trying to roll over hundreds of account to domestic acquirers and those banks slowing down on submissions as not to get flooded in paperwork up to their ceilings. Banks have pretty high ceiling if you recall the last one you have been into. There are only a few banks accepting a product that is getting the cold shoulder all over the place and everyone and their momma is looking for the best terms and boarding conditions at the time being.
It only makes sense to get the most bang for the buck but watching people try to get to that buck is almost funny in it's own way. Kinda like watching a racoon try to open a bag of potato chips, you know it's hungry and the things it would do to get those darn chips kinda makes you chuckle. I am no better than anyone else and have done this myself at times so I could make the most but never have I seen it like this. People that told other people to take a hike are now making up, people that speak to the contact at one company try to immediately go around the back of the person that brought them in to secure their own relationship and cut the first dude out. I mean, the world is your oyster right now if you have a home for all of these accounts and to get that shelter there is nothing that some will not do.
We are all here to make money and to succeed for our families so do what ever you have to do but just know that we see you out there credit card processing agents and you guys are relentless as honey badgers. Just do the best you can, keep in mind that this is a relationship bases business both on the sales side and the employee side and he who knows the best men wins every day of the week but always make sure that you do the best for the businesses that you set up and you operate as ethically as you can. Your reputation is at stake after all.
Make your next move your best move but just don't move in on my relationships cause I'll catch ya and put you in a cage you little weasel.
