Concepts of Circular Economy seem simple and easy to implement. Yes, but only on the surface. When Marina Pugacheva and myself started developing Circular House Guidelines for buildings, we realized the true nature and scale of challenges of implementation which will be experienced by various stakeholders involved in building industry such as Designers, Material suppliers, Contractors etc.

But then all journeys, especially disruptive and transformational in nature, start with small steps with big beliefs.?

Our thorough studying of the relevant standards, research of the regulations and best practices in construction industry helped successfully develop the Circular House Guidelines which were released during United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28), House of Sustainability at Expo City Dubai.

Based on the Circular Economy principles, Circular House Guidelines provide recommendations for each of the building stage – from Master Planning and Design to Construction and Disassembly on how to design, build, maintain and deconstruct the buildings to reduce waste and pollution, regenerate nature and optimize use of the planet resources.

Announcement of the Circular House Guidelines at COP28 is a matter of pride and joy for Marina Pugacheva , myself and also for Circular Economy professionals. It is also a significant milestone for UAE built industry as it is aligned with the UAE Circular Economy policy 2021-2031.
