Circling

Circling

We have been on a mild rollercoaster the past few weeks. Started with a lot of sectors, and now getting closer to a couple that look very promising. I feel like Neo in Matrix when he opened his eyes and said, “I know Kung-fu”. The past few weeks, we have gone deep in a couple of sectors that we were pretty superficial on earlier. It feels great to be learning new things, to actually understand the dynamics of complex sectors.

After all, that was the whole point of this exercise. I want to do a startup because I want to grow, to exercise muscles I have not used as much, to become a student again. To learn.

Right now, there are days when I go home feeling like we are back to square one, and others where it feels like we made a ton of progress. There are those high days and low days. But I have realized that the trick is to always end the week on a high day if possible (set the right meetings, meet the right people, do a proper wrap-up). Then the weekend is great, and the next week starts off super-well.

Right now, it feel like we are circling around a very vague idea. The contours of our values and principles are becoming slightly visible. Those thoughts which will form the bedrock of our passion a bit later are starting to form. After all, what people look for is not an idea, or a company, or a strategy, they look for a passion. Something to hold on to as they embark on crazy journeys. I have done this before. I have seen this before. And I can feel the tingling coming.

Optimistic.

Good luck....keep at it... better to make the circles now...and not a year from today when you are ready to launch your product.
