Circle's new Community AI

Circle.so has grown to replace my usual community building platforms in recent weeks. I am building four new communities there with some of our amazing clients from Veniluck Complex Business Solutions . Links to these communities will be at the end of the article. If you wish to create a community by yourself on circle, then click here or reach out to me and let's talk!

I'll quickly dive into why their current functionalities won me over:

1) We have to start off with their latest addition being the Community AI. Everybody who has had to deal with constant article writing in Community Spaces and managing new updates knows the effort of coming up with creative ways to notify people about the latest bug-fix or event coming up. Now with their generative AI known as the "content co-pilot" I'm finding my workflow cut to about a tenth of the time it used to be.

On top of assisting with content creation, Circle's Community AI is brilliant for those of us who post video updates regularly! Video posts, event recordings, and course lessons have now been upgraded with automated transcriptions for accessibility as well as being instantly searchable with keywords being linked to specific time-slots during the video. It helps me break down course lectures by different topics and guide students to the exact times they need to focus on.

Finally, the Community AI gives you in-depth understanding of your member's engagement and overall activity levels. Here's just some of the benefits I have seen so far:

  • Letting you see an aggregate score from all their activities as part of the community so you know to reach out to in order to minimize member churn when they haven't been online in a while.
  • Knowing all the paywalls and subscriptions members are a part of and their latest activity I know how and when to upsell as necessary and who my most important members are in terms of revenue generation.
  • Having different member roles alongside their latest activities as well as engagement metrics lets me know which members I can feel comfortable to promote to moderators to help out with the community.

2) The benefits of Circle's Spaces and Space Groups (also known as rooms/channels and categories in other community builders) are immense and I might need a whole article later on to be able to dive into all of them in detail. The main points they cover is accessibility for members - choosing whether specific areas of your community should be Open to the world, Private pending payment or some other factor like a specific Role in the community, and finally the Secret areas, which aren't even seen as locked and are perfect as added value spaces for subscribing customers.

3) Design. Design. Design. Whilst some community builders like Discord have a bit more of a "gamer" feel to them, Circle is elevated. It's clean, classy, and most importantly - it's yours to play around with! Upload your entire Brand Book in terms of colors and make your community your own!

4) Having an app. Yes. Circle's mobile App means you don't only have to wish for people to log into your community once in a blue moon when they remember to do so from their desktop but it is with them on the go! Roughly 80% of communities have mobile-only users so this is a MUST have for any community builder. On top of the fact that they allow you to send out email, in-app and push notifications! Oh, and weekly digest newsletters to all members...

5) Custom domains. Did I almost forget to mention this? Yes your communities are all under the name of your company - not just a randomly generated number. On top of the accessibility to manage your own SEO, Circle really does have it all! Want to check out some of the communities we're building over at Veniluck?
